Help us build a new yurt for Pond Camp at Balarat!
Pond Camp was one of the first areas developed for day use at Balarat. Over the years, Pond Camp has served as a rustic place to engage in a learning activity, eat lunch, start (or finish) a Balarat visit, enjoy a campfire, and much more!
Pond Camp was built to host just one class at a time, but now the spot is used by up to three classes each day. The shelters provide an incredible space for field science teaching and learning! Balarat needs more shelter space to keep students warm and dry on those cold winter days!
Please help Balarat Council reach our goal of $25,000 to install the yurt before the weather gets cold again next winter!

Balarat Council meets virtually each month during the school year and is comprised of former educators, Balarat alumni, and community members.
The Council works to fundraise and advocate for the Balarat Outdoor Education program to ensure its long-term sustainability.
